Ketolysis is the breakdown of ketone bodies for energy [ formed by fatty acid]
It is the complete oxidation of CO2 & water.
Acetoacetate and β - hydroxy butyrate are the functional ketone bodies that undergo Ketolysis.
Acetone is non-metabolizable product which is secreted by our lungs.
